True Knit Wit!!!

So we have been getting all these beautiful gifts from our contractors in my office. Some nuts and fresh fruit and flowers and stuff. Each thing that has come in we have ripped apart and indulged. Well today we got a beautiful BASKET full of goodies. I came back and said ohhh I want the basket. Everyone said well its stuff for the whole office. I said not I don't want the stuff in it I WANT THE BASKET!!!! Yeah dork! But look at it...its a nice hinged handle bakset. For all that wonderful wool Santa is going to bring me!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

First Knit Wits Holiday Party!

SO...we have had our 1st holiday Knit Wits party. Barb was nice enough to once again open her home to use for a little holiday knitting fun. Surrounded by friends and family we came from near and far with our yummy dishes and knitting in tow. We did a goofy gift exchange where everyone went home with some kind of crafty knitty gift. Overall it was a big success. Thank you everyone for coming and thank you Barb for you hospitality once again!
Deb was the first to arrive with her festive party hat!
Kate and Craig brought Craig's mom, Betty
Sean and Mia made the trek from the Eastern Shore!
And so did Betty and Jerry!
It wasn't long before the knitting commenced!
Mark and Linda slightly out of focus...or was that the photographer???
Lyn looks happy, but I'm not to sure about Sean!
Deb always maintains her sunny nature - and without alcohol!
Another busy knitter

I'm sorry I know there has not been any posts in like a month. My home computer that I have all my picture capabilities on is fried at the moment. We think the hard drive is going up on it. Hopefully my dad will be able to fix it. I really don't have the money to be getting a new one. I will try to get something up somehow soon! By the way Ravelry ROCKS!! If you are not already on the waiting list gt on it!!!

Just a little hat

Some of you may have seen me working on this. It started out a scarf but turned into a hat. I like it its cute. Made from the lion brand incredible. It is a ribbon style. I did this in the round with 2x2 ribbing. I am working on a matching scarf as well. Quick and easy!

Updates from the Black Sheep!

OK, so I only have two hats done at the moment for ships project. I know I know shame on me. But at least they are pretty awesome hats!

I still can't believe I did a cabled hat for a total stranger!

Next on the fun exciting things! Check out this basket! This is by a company by the name of Lantern Moon http://lanternmoon.com/
Their knitting products are fantastic! This basket is the Lotus basket it was part of a set of two silk lined with the drawstring closure. This is the larger basket and there is another exactly like it only slightly smaller.
So...whats in the basket!?!?!?!?

The new Aran! Well not really a aran but at least a Irish sweater!
This is what has become of the wool from the aran sweater I was working on. I just started it last week and I am already about two inches from starting the armholes. It is going nice and quick as it is being worked on us 13 and with two strands at a time. As you can see I am also working the body on circular needles. Which is also helping it to go quicker. I am in love! And I think I will actually finish this one before I have the chance to fall out of love!

SEE EVERYONE SOON!

Sad news regarding Aran...

The love afair is over...

Truthfully I really wanted to use the wool that I brought back from Ireland for a sweater with more cables in it. The pattern I have been doing while pretty ony has the simple cabble patter going down the sides. and the rest a bramble stitch which is royal pain. So we have started anew. I am doing the first sweater I fell in love with when I started knitting. Pictures to come as I am alreaddy about 5"into it. It is going much quicker as I am working it in the round it is on 13 needles and with two strands of wool at once. I think the wool is happier in this pattern. I know I am! I will try and get pictures up over the weekend.

Helllllooo Helllooo Helllooooo Echo Echo Echo

Yeah...summer tends to kill the knitting buzz. And now it's Faire season! Yay! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer. Let's try and get back on track. For me personally my dancing is taking up so much time it is hard to squeeze in knitting time. So now more than ever I need that set calendar of you will definitely get knitting time on these days. So for now lets plan to get back on the second Wednesday and last Wednesday. I will send a email to everyone to see who wants to host. As always I have no problems with hosting. But don't want to hog all the fun :-). So...

MARK YOU CALENDARS!!!

September 12th
September 26th

If you got my e-mail with the update from the ships project you know that October is when they really start needing the warm knitted items. Lets really try to get a few things together to send off in October. I must confess the 10 hats didn't happen! I got two. But will push to have more done for October mailing. A e-mail is also coming regarding a Knit Wits at the faire. I think it would be a great idea to let people know what we are doing and possibly recruit new knitters.

Stay Tuned for more!
